CLAT 2027 Eligibility Criteria
Undergraduate (UG) Programme (5-Year Integrated LLB)
- Academic Qualifications: Candidates must have passed 10+2 (Intermediate) or an equivalent examination recognized by a state or central board.
- Minimum Aggregate Marks:
- General / OBC / NRI / PIO / OCI / PwD: Minimum 45% aggregate marks (or equivalent grade).
- SC / ST: Minimum 40% aggregate marks.
- Appearing Candidates: Students taking their Class 12 board examinations in March/April 2027 are fully eligible to sit for CLAT 2027, provided proof of passing is submitted during final admission counselling.
- Age Limit: No upper age limit exists for CLAT UG.
Postgraduate (PG) Programme (LL.M.)
- Academic Qualifications: A 3-year LL.B. or 5-year integrated LL.B. degree from a Bar Council of India-recognized university.
- Minimum Marks:
- General / OBC / PwD / NRI: Minimum 50% marks.
- SC / ST: Minimum 45% marks.
- Appearing Candidates: Final-year law students graduating in 2027 are eligible.
- Age Limit: No upper age limit.
Scheme of Examination & Syllabus
CLAT is a comprehension-driven exam that tests reading stamina, critical evaluation, and analytical ability through ~450-word passages rather than rote learning.
- Marking Scheme: +1 mark for every correct answer; negative marking of -0.25 marks for every incorrect answer; 0 marks for unattempted questions.

PG-CLAT Scheme
The PG test consists of 120 objective questions based on mandatory undergraduate legal subjects, including Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, Administrative Law, Law of Contract, Torts, Family Law, Criminal Law, Property Law, Company Law, Public International Law, Tax Law, Environmental Law, and Labor & Industrial Law.
CLAT 2027 Exam Dates
The Consortium has declared the CLAT 2027 exam date as Sunday, 6 December 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The application form opened on 3 August 2026, and the last date to apply is 31 October 2026.

CLAT 2027 Reservation Policy
Reservation in CLAT admissions is governed by the individual policies of participating National Law Universities (NLUs). Categories such as SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwD, and domicile-based reservations may vary across institutions. Candidates are advised to check the reservation matrix published by the respective NLU before participating in the counselling process.
Registration & Step-by-Step Application Process
All applications are accepted exclusively online through the official consortium portal.
Step 1: Account Creation
Visit consortiumofnlus.ac.in and click on CLAT 2027 Registration. Register using a valid mobile number and active email address. Verify your account via OTP.
Step 2: Form Completion
Log in and fill in:
- Personal Particulars: Name, date of birth, parentage, nationality, and communication address.
- Category & Reservation Claims: Caste, domicile status, PwD, and EWS details.
- Academic Qualifications: Board details, year of passing/appearing, and aggregate marks.
Step 3: Document Uploads
- Recent passport-size photograph (front-facing, light background).
- Signature of the candidate.
- Category/Domicile/PwD certificate (if applying under reserved quotas).
Step 4: Application Fee Payment
- Application fees can be paid online only.
- Application fee for General/OBC candidates: Rs.4,000/-
- Application fee for SC/ST/BPL/PwD category candidates: Rs.3,500/-
- The cost of previous years’ question papers is Rs.500/- (not included in the CLAT 2027 application fee of Rs.4,000/- or Rs.3,500/- as the case may be.)
- The candidates themselves will have to bear the bank transaction charges for remitting the fee online. The actual bank transaction charges will be displayed in the payment gateway page after candidates choose the mode of payment.
- Application Fees is non-refundable or non-adjustable.
CLAT 2027 Exam Centres
The application form asks candidates to select their preferred test cities, and the Consortium discloses the allotted centre only on the admit card. The Consortium has removed Vellore and Tiruvarur from the list of CLAT 2027 test cities. While filling out the application form, candidates can select 3 centre preferences. CLAT 2027 Admit Card
The Consortium is expected to release the CLAT admit card at least 15 days before the exam. Students can generally download their hall ticket until 1:30 pm on exam day.
How to download CLAT Admit Card?
Students can download the CLAT hall ticket 2027 by following the process given below
- Visit consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
- Click on the admit card download tab displayed on screen.
- You will be redirected to the login window.
- Enter registration/application number and date of birth.
- The admit card will appear on screen.
- Read all the details printed on it carefully.
- Take a printout of the CLAT admit card.
The Consortium notifies the exam centre of the candidate only on the admit card.
CLAT 2027 Result
The CLAT 2027 result is expected in December 2026 or early January 2027, released in PDF format on the official Consortium website.
